ANTM Cycle 12 Episode 1: 25 Random Things About ANTM

Good old ANTM, still going strong after eleven 'cycles'.  Here are my random thoughts about last night's episode:

1. Amanit is my early favourite but London will probably win it; Celia 
could be the younger sister of the Bachelor's Stephanie, but that's a 
blog for another time.
2. Miss J makes the show. Don't get me wrong, I love the photo shoots 
and the 'competition', but it's Miss J's broken-down, busted-up antics 
that keep me coming back for more.
3. The two-hour format for reality tv episodes has got to end and not 
just for ANTM. Thankfully I have a PVR, but still, two hours at a time 
is tedious.
4. Nigel Barker. Still hot after all these cycles. Could use a new 
tagline...and maybe a different striped shirt to wear under his blazer 
at the judging panel.
5. Sweet sweet Las Vegas. Give me a steak dinner at Boa followed by a 
fine cigar, a vodka and Red Bull and a few hours to wander The Strip 
or lounge by a pool and I'm happy.
6. What is up with Tyra's over the top entrances? It must be like Halloween 
every day for the Goddess of Fierce.
7. As if Mr. J works out in Central Park. I was going to say, as if 
Mr. J works out, but you know he does. And you know he does while 
wearing his Robocop outfit. Just not in Central Park.
8. The made up drama between some of the girls is way too contrived, 
even for reality tv.
9. Allison reminds me of those crazy cat-like creatures who lived in 
the closet on the movie The Grudge. I would NOT want to be on the bunk 
below her back at the house.
10. "Hey guys, any of you know who Jesus Christ is?"
11. Angelea had a daughter who passed away so I can't make fun of her 
ghetto talk and fake press-on nails. Too bad she didn't make the final 
cut.
12. Why do these broads scream at the drop of a hat? Or at the 
appearance of Tyra Mail?
13. The Tyra Mails were decent this episode.
14. Tyra Mail 1: Get Ready to Bridge the Gap Between Good and Bad.
15. Tyra Mail 2: Eenie Meenie Miney Mo, Make it Fierce from Head to Toe.
16. I was impressed that they went to the top of the Empire State 
Building and that, 1: No one else was up there and, 2: No one had a panic 
attack about the height (like I did when I was there).
17. Allison came in first; Isabella got sent home; I couldn't have 
predicted either one.
18. Sandra's runway walk was the only interesting part of that segment.
19. The first photo shoot - where all the girls portrayed different 
goddesses -was disappointing. There should have been more props.
20. The only correct answer to give when Tyra asks you to name five 
models working in the 'Biz' is: Whitney, McKey, Jaslene, Saleisha, and 
CariDee.
21. Big deal that Kortnie dated Dale Earnhardt Jr. Shouldn't that make 
her a Great American Heroine or something?
22. The second photo shoot was a good concept, but I loved how Tyra proclaimed that teen girls growing up too fast is one of her 'causes'.  Puhlease.
23. I wish Monique would have made the cut, if only for her 
intelligent discourse about the Rockefellers, Pearl Harbour and other 
random facts she picked up from an A&E special narrated by Bill Curtis.
24. Tahila. Would she have made it if she weren't a burn survivor? 
Touchy subject. I didn't like how they covered her up during the 
runway walk, that was weak.
25. Eeenie meenie money mo, one girl out and 11 to go.
